This is a story abought my first dnd characther please let me know what ya think (its a little long winded since it had to incompas a lot abought my guy)
Between a sun beaten mountain back drop and a jungle floor a small village etched out a meager existence. Other than a small river that ran through the village it was a horrid place to be. The ground was barley farmable and the wild plants are poison to humans or only seasonal. There would be no reason for a village of any kind had it not been for the now barn iron mines that ran deep into the mountain. 8 years before
A small group of humans looking for a place to call home had traveled many weeks following the advice there cleric gave them. The cleric told them that Io said this mountain would be our savior but it would also cost them much. The self proclaimed leader of the group a young blacksmith Decided to go scout out to the mountains base and what he found was amazing. Iron veins thick as his fist, he had only heard a bought veins like these never before had he seen them. They took no time at all setting up a base camp between the mountain and the river that ran beside the jungle. Within a few weeks that had all the makings of a small village. There were several fishermen in the group that got most of the villages food. Between the black smith and there cleric they were able to provide most of the villages other needs. Anything else was just icing like the few fruits they were able to find and the very few crops they could get to grow. They decided to name their little Village Ironest.
5 years after Ironest founding.
By now the little village’s secret was out in the open. Prospectors from all over the land came to claim there fountain in the now deep mines. And the village soon turned into a town. As such a name change was in order Ironest-port was born, and the little village was no more. The center of the now town was a iron statue that was crafted by the blacksmith, it was the symbol of Io. The cleric blessed it and the fisherman wrote a small prayer at the bottom of it for everyone who had ever been lost on the water. The river became a way for the people to get goods in and items out. The ironest weapons and armor have been seen in kingdoms that the people of ironest have never even heard of.
Now back to where our story began.
The mines dried up a bought 2 years ago no matter how far they dug, they could never find more iron. Slowly people began to leave and so too did the life of the town. Well as with all things life goes on and the cleric’s son and one of the fisherman’s daughters were married. Not wanting his child to live through the hardships that would be to come in this village if things were to stay the way they were. He prayed to Io just as his father had before him, and asked what he could do to make life better for his son and the village. That night in a dream a symbol of Io came to the clerics son in his dream and told him to take the child up on the mountain and find the bleeding dragon and to bathe the child in its blood and he would grant life anew unto the village. but when the child would turn 19 years old that they must return to the mountain where he was bathed. Before the man could ask how he would get the dragons blood or why he would have to come back when the child was grown, he was thrust awake by his wife who was almost ready to bear the child. Within a few hours he had a baby boy they named him tatsu ramore. Knowing what Io had told him to be true, he and the boy started up the mountain carrying him in several layers of wool and cloth to keep him warm. Half way up the mountain they stopped to rest in a little cave that wind and snow had beaten down. Just as soon as he started to close his eye Io image appeared again and told him to be alert the time was soon. He had no more than rolled back over than a loud dark roar came from outside the cave. Running to the mouth to see what was going on there were a massive blue dragon and a enormous black dragon doing battle. The battle was over in a instant though it seemed like time did not move for the man watching this take place. The blue lay there dead as the black dragon flew away hope fully leaving the area. The man knew what he must do and took the child and dunked him into the stream of blood running from the dragon. The child’s eyes changed from a light green to a light blue and his whole body glowed with a blue hue. Cleaning the baby in the snow and raping him back into the blankets, the man prepared to return to his wife whom he knew would not be happy of him taking the baby. Before leavening the man picked up a blue dragon scale flake and started down the mountain
As time passed the village began to prosper again, by the time the young boy was 5 years old the village was almost back to the way it was before the miners came to town. Un aware of how different he was he enjoyed a normal life with his dad never too far off. Just as Io told him the town’s life came back, the fields began to produce more than enough crops to feed the town and new eatable vegetation in the jungle was found.
The day of tatsu 19th birth day would be one he would always remember for better or for worse. It started as any other day would with a quick dip in the river, followed by breakfast. Then it went in a different direction as a dark shadow enveloped the village. Tatsu father came to him and said, Son we must go it is not safe for you here. Before they could get out of the village a massive black dragon descended on them. Tatsu father gave him the blue dragon scale and told him to head up the mountain there he would find help. Wanting to help his father but not wanting to leave, tatsu was meet with a hard decision but did as his father asked. As tatsu head up the mountain he could see sparks of white light coming from behind him knowing his dad was fighting the massive beast, he pushed onward up the mountain. Nearing the half way point he could no longer see the village only the dark shadow and on occasion part of his head or tail. He came across some giant bones of a dragon, touching them his mind was filled with flashes of a battle long ago. His dad as a young man, and even him as a baby. Saying out loud, what is going on? He was meet with a voice sounding like a young woman, it was the spirit of a woman dressed in blue. putting too and too together he decided that the bones were hers and asked what did she know a bought the visions he had. She told him of what happened that day and it was her job to unlock his powers and him help her defeat the black dragon. Before tatsu could say a word she touched his forehead and power awakened deep within him. The dragon scale fused to his chest and she attached herself to it making his new power surge well beyond what it could be. Wings formed on his back of ice and almost like a suit of armor it ice clung to the rest of his body. In a instant he teleported back down to the village and turning to look at the dragon with horror he saw his father laying there dead beneath the monster. His horror turned to hate and from hate into rage. Eyes blazing blue he began to say word he did not know but a massive ball of ice formed above him and he slung it into the black dragons hide knocking him into the river. The black dragon was not defeat so easily, bursting up from the water it charged at tatsu with clinging black flames bellowing from its mouth. It melted some of the ice from tatsu, but the ice grew right back to cover him. The too of them fought back up the mountain he could fill the power in the scale was starting to fade along with his own. He could hear the voice of his father mixed with that of the blue dragon, Force out all the power you can son. Forming a gaint ice javilin and sending it at the black dragons chest, tatsu hit the dragon but was to week to do any thing else.Releasing all that power made tatsu collapse and the ice shatter from his body and the last thing he saw was the black dragon flying awway obviously hurt.
Awaking a few weeks later tatsu found himself with his mother in their little home. The blue dragon scale was on the shelf beside his bed. knowing there was no power left in it he was going to just toss it but desided that it would be a good way for him to rember his dad and all that had happend. Taking some string he made the scale into a necklace. He found out that some of the villagers saw were the black dragon was headed. So tatsu decided he would leave from there and head in the direction it went into. Huging his mom goodbye he started the long treck down the mountain.
